Sumuni ( Sister Brand )

“Sumuni” means young lady in the Rungus language — a name that celebrates the grace, strength, and creativity of the women behind each handmade piece.

Born from collaboration between Dorisch.co and the Rungus community of Kudat, Sumuni bridges contemporary design with traditional bead artistry. Every piece carries the heart of Sabah — made rightfully, crafted slowly, and inspired by the stories of young women who keep their heritage alive through their hands.

At Dorisch.co, collaboration with the Rungus community of Kudat began with a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and culture. Through Sumuni by Dorisch.co, we work directly with Rungus women artisans who have inherited generations of beadwork knowledge. Each design blends their traditional patterns with Dorisch.co’s modern sensibility — creating pieces that honor heritage while fitting effortlessly into today’s lifestyle. This collaboration isn’t just about design — it’s about connection. Dorisch.co provides design guidance, material sourcing support, and access to a wider market, while the artisans maintain full creative involvement in the making process. Together, we ensure that every piece is rightfully made, ethically priced, and rooted in mutual respect.
